I didn't realize that using translucency in the design wouldn't work, so I ended up using a transparent image. I was told over the phone that the border would be visible, so I was going to edit it, but I just went ahead and created it as is. Thankfully, the transparency gradient was changed to an opaque image with a color gradient, so while it didn't quite match my intention, it came out pretty close.
